What to do in Taghazout at a glance
The list is a selection, not a ranking. Entries 1 to 4 stay in the village and at the surf spots next to it. Entries 5 to 7 reach out to Tamraght, Aourir and Imsouane. Entries 8 to 10 cover golf, yoga and the resort area of Taghazout Bay. Entries 11 and 12 are a day trip inland and an event that runs for four days only.
Taghazout has lanes, cafรฉs and surf shops, and the coast around it has waves for every level. Several spots here are for experienced surfers only. The entries say which, so beginners can pick the right beach. Prices are published offers from 2026 and can change.

Village and surf spots (1 to 4)
Start where the lanes meet the sea.
1. Walk the village and the coast
Taghazout grew from a fishing village. The regional tourism portal describes lanes, cafรฉs by the sea and surf shops. Plan it as an unstructured walk and ask locally about access rules at individual beaches. Carry some cash, because some small hotels and shops take cash only.
Where to stay in Taghazout โ2. Take a surf lesson
A lesson is the most common first activity. One camp in the village lists lessons with lunch for GBP 25, board hire for GBP 10 and wetsuit hire for GBP 10 (2026). A full week with lessons, bed and dinners is covered on the camps page. Choose a school that teaches beginners on sand, not on rock.
Surf camps compared โ3. Watch Anchor Point
Anchor Point is a right-hand point break over rock and reef. The national tourism organisation names it for experienced surfers, and local schools give it an advanced rating. It is a good place to watch from the shore. It is not a place for first attempts, and tide advice differs between schools.
Surf guide โ4. See Panoramas at high tide
Panoramas is a right-hand wave over sand and rock near the village. One school rates it for all levels and suggests high water. A second guide warns of currents when the swell is strong. Ask a local surfer or school about the day before you paddle out.

Three places along the coast, reached by road.
5. Go to Tamraght and Devil's Rock
Devil's Rock is a sandy beach break near Tamraght with left and right waves. One school lists it for all levels, including beginner lessons, and says the tide matters little. Sand is not a bathing permit: check the water and the flags that day.
Tamraght guide โ6. Try Banana Point in Aourir
A school places Banana Point in Aourir and lists it for beginners and intermediates, a right-hand wave over sand. Schools disagree on the best tide, so ask your instructor. The beach of Aourir sits by Devil's Rock, which makes both easy to combine.
7. Make a day trip to Imsouane
A shuttle operator runs a direct service from Taghazout to Imsouane for EUR 12 each way, in about 1 hour 15 minutes. Departures are at 10:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with the return at 11:25 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Every ticket must be booked online, and the bus stops only where someone has booked. Check the current timetable before you go.

Slower options for the days without waves.
8. Play Tazegzout golf
The course lies in Taghazout Bay. The resort describes 27 holes, while the national tourism organisation lists 18 holes, par 72, 6,730 m. Both statements exist, so confirm the layout when you book. Ask the club for current green fees before you plan.
Taghazout Bay โ9. Book a yoga stay
A retreat in Tamraght combines surfing with five rooftop yoga sessions of 60 to 75 minutes, from EUR 510 per person for six nights in a dorm (2026). A village camp offers a week with five sunset sessions for GBP 470. Single sunset classes cost GBP 8 at that camp.
Yoga guide โ10. See the resort area of Taghazout Bay
Taghazout Bay is a planned resort area with beach hotels, hotels near the golf course and homes. A Marriott resort opened here in July 2026. Hotel grounds are not public attractions, so do not count on free access to pools or private beaches.
Inland and by date (11 and 12)
One trip that belongs to Agadir and one event.
11. Visit Paradise Valley
The valley lies in the western foothills of the Atlas, with a canyon, rock pools and walking paths. It is covered in full by the Paradise Valley guide for Agadir. Older descriptions warn that pools can be largely dry in summer. Water levels in October 2026 are not known, so ask before you go.
12. Join the Surf Expo
The Surf Expo is announced for 22 to 25 October 2026 at Anchor Point. It is an event, not a year-round attraction. Road closures or parking changes are not published, so allow extra time and arrive early.
Safety and practical points
What helps before you head to the water.
Reefs and currents
Anchor Point and Killer Point are for experienced surfers. Rock and reef cause injuries, and the walk back from Killer Point at low water can turn into a long paddle as the tide rises. Beginners should stay on the sandy beaches.
Sea urchins
A local guide warns of sea urchins at the entry and exit of the Boilers break. Wear reef shoes at any rocky entry.
Money
Taghazout has cash machines on the main road, according to a local camp. There is no guarantee that a machine works, so bring some dirhams (MAD) for taxis and small shops.
For flights, buses and transfers, see Agadir airport and our guide on getting there. Surf conditions by month are on the weather page.
